Blooming Pirates

Despite the lack luster critical response and box office for the recent Country Bears film from Disney, plans are still in place to plug along with the upcoming The Pirates of the Caribbean.

In fact, actors are still signing on to set sail. The latest to drop anchor is Lord of the Rings' Orlando Bloom.

Bloom will be taking on the roll of Will Turner, friend of the pirate-fighting captain Jack Sparrow, set to be played by Johnny Depp. Geoffrey Rush is set to play the villainous pirate who kidnaps a governor's daughter, necessitating Sparrow and Turner to give chase.

Shooting is set to start in about a month with The Mexican's Gore Verbinski behind the camera.
