Latest word on Pirates of the Caribbean (scene description)
November 4, 2002
Pirates of the Caribbean (Major Spoilers Ahead): 'Jon Movie Man' has a detailled and VERY SPOILER HEAVY description of a scene towards the end of the film adaptation of the Disney ride. Here's the scoop: "Jack Sparrow is captured and is to be hung for his crimes as a Pirate. He is standing on the gallows with a noose around his neck, with the executioner next to him, and a crowd and British Marines watching the hanging. After a man reads to Jack his crimes, the executioner pulls the lever and the trap door Jack is standing on opens. Just as Jack starts to fall, Orlando Bloom’s character of Will Turner runs in through the crowd and throws his sword just below Jack, it sticks through the trap door and Jack balances on the sword to prevent himself from hanging. Will runs up the stairs of the Gallows, grabs another sword from a Marine, fights with the executioner, who accidently cuts the rope that is holding Jack up. Jack falls, Will beats the executioner, Jack and Will join up, fight marines (big fight scene), but are surrounded by them with bayonets pointed tword them and… I won’t tell you the rest because I don’t want to reveal further spoilers. As to the pictures that appeared on Coming Attractions for 'Pirates' on October 4th. They are as follows, pictures 1-2 are of the Fort where the first and last scenes of the movie are shot, they contain the gallows where Jack is to be hung. Pics 3-5 are of nothing, this is not a set used piece, even though it’s at the parting lot of the set, it’s not for the film, or any other film for that matter".
