NewsOK.com:
Producer, director and Academy Award-winning screenwriter Cameron Crowe has movie crews in the Oklahoma City metro area today, scheduled to film scenes for his new movie "Elizabethtown," starring
Orlando Bloom, Kirsten Dunst and Susan Sarandon. Dino Lalli, Oklahoma Film Commission spokesman, confirmed the movie was filming here. The movie's unit publicist, Paulette Osorio, told The Oklahoman the movie was filming in the state for "a handful of days" and the set was closed, meaning no media visits were approved. Travel and Tourism Director Hardy Watkins said problems with crowds on the sets in Kentucky are one reason Crowe cracked down on public access. However, this morning, a crew was scheduled to film in a two-square-block area in downtown El Reno, including Rock Island Avenue. Local police officers were hired for set security. Filming there is expected to take seven to eight hours and will include point-of-view shots from a front seat of a car.

Orlando Bloom set to make a fortune in sequelsposted on August 2, 2004
From
Wizard News: Lord of the Rings hunk Orlando Bloom is in the middle of secret negotiations to spend 10 months of next year shooting two sequels to Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl back-to-back. Hollywood producer Jerry Bruckheimer has decided to shoot the third Pirates movie at the same time as the sequel to last year's hit. Orlando is looking at a fee of $12.6 million each for both films, while co-star Johnny Depp is able to command the highest price, as his performance as pirate Jack Sparrow made the original a phenomenal success - taking $720 million worldwide in 2003. The source says Orlando can name a high price as his and Keira Knightley's love story was a very popular feature of the original and both have huge fan bases. The decision to make both movies at the same time will take Orlando off the market for a year.
