Rotk was an excellent epic of human will, strife and triumph. Absolutely amazing! Universal themes, social theories, and inspirational ideals were unvailed in a beautiful artistic and humanitistic montage. I cried three times during the film! Endearing, powerful, and spectacular. Don;t miss this final installment of the Lotr!!!! It will have you wired for days!Suzy Ibdah (Waited in line with pre-ordered tickets for two hours on opening day and it was WORTH IT!!!)
"The Return of the King" was an awesome movie. I loved it. I've only seen it twice so far and I think it'll keep getting better each time. I do admit that I was expecting more action like in the "Two Towers", but I won't complain since it explained more about events and characters (like Smeagol). I also hope that the extended DVD version has more deleted scenes, because the movie didn't show all the important things that happened in the book. Like what happens to Saruman afterwards, what happens with Faramir and Eowyn, and with the Shire. Though, I understand there wasn't much time to show everything, it was a good movie overall. (And of course Legolas was awesome as usual too!)Lauralee
The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King was the most spectacular movie I have ever seen. It was exceptionally emotional. The characters go through so much, and it is so powerful, that you feel as though you are part of it. It also gives you a sort of peace. You know that everything will be okay, and life is as it should be, for the most part. I love that movie with all I have, and I am counting the days until I can own it.Jennifer Torreano P.S. I think my life will be just about over, now that the epic has come to a close.
i saw ROTK on the first day it came out in New Zealand (18th Dec). its sooo great. Legolas does this great thing at the battle 4 Palenore fields with an elephont... all in all its the best out of the 3 and orlando is so hot!!!kim, middle earth
In a word, "Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King was beautiful. Breathtaking landscapes, unparalelled (by even Lucas) special effects, many teary moments, wonderful characters and a fantastic cast makes the triology the best (I think) there ever was and ever will be. No story in our mondern time has captured the human soul so well. Tolkien expressed himself and his views in a Middle Earth backdrop full of toil and pain but also beauty and courage. Peter Jackson, Gandi bless him, has truely lived up to the masterpeice of Tolkien's words as well as anyone could do within the limitations of film and time. What I liked: I wouldn't be fair to say I liked the whole damn thing, because that would not be the case. Always in a movie there are things that you don't like. But screw being fair! I liked it all! But there were some precious moments that I liked so very much I just have to tell you! -Pippin and Merry's lovely relationship. They have such a deep love (in a friendly, not romantic manner) for each other. Pippin and Sam stole the show. -Pippin and Aragorn singing. I think Billy Boyd should be a singer on the side. He really has a beautiful voice. Viggo did his best and was well for his part. -Sam. He's just so badassed and awesome! Stole the show. You'll see what I mean. -Eowyn! Man, she rocks. -Elrond. He's so pissy and old. I love him. I think Hugo has become my favorite actor. Its great when he comes to talk to Aragorn about being king and gives him the sword. And he smiles so submissively at the end with Aragorn and Arwen. So noble and wise. Kinda like Wills... -The green happiness from the dead city in Mordor. It just shoots up into the sky! So pretty! -Gandalf. I love him. It was very moving when he was talking about the afterlife and death. I cried...but I was already crying so there... -The lighting of the signal fires. It was very powerful. -Denethor burning up and jumping off the tower. It was very rad, but sad as well. -The kiss. I almost forgot how much I can't stand Arwen. -Legolas and his crown. That has got to be the sexiest thing I have ever seen in my life.
What I didn't like: -The ending. It was good, but very drawn out. Almost too much. And those false endings just sucked. ~Shawna
This movie was a very emotional, battle, love movie. It had it's moments that you felt like you almost wanted to cry.I love the whole concept of the movie. It was sad that guhlam died and they even showed him when he was a hobbit. Legolas kicked mega butt in this movie.I loved the battle scenes, they rocked. p.S. This movie rocks but I hate the thought that it's the last one christina!
ROTK was so great even though i knew what was going to happen cuz i read the book, i was still kept on the edge of my seat. it was the best yet. it was the most intense and fantastic one yet. i was so excited. it was just simply awsome. Orli was so great, along w/ all the other actors.sincerely jessica
Hi, Evryone has to go and see Resturn Of The King! It is the best film out of all 3, you cry loads, you larf loads, its just amazing!!!!!! o yeh and another thing, the battle scenes in this film are amazing you like OMG how the hell do they do that! legolas looks amazing in this film, his eyes :-O gorrrrrrrgus! billy boyds voice is amazing, makes you cry :(.....its so amazing ive never seen anything like it before in my life.....orlando omg fiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit! luv orlando and elijah fan! xxxx
OMG! The return of the king was so awesome and orlando looked SO good in it! he is just so amazingly beautiful...im gonna marry him one day! i cried my eyes out, but the movie was so great..they ended the lord of the rings journey in such a spectacular way, it was so great-Sassy, Purvis, MS
I'm not one to cry at any movie in fact I usually laugh when people die. However The Return of the King is an acceptation. Pippin's song brought me to tears as did Arwen's vision of her child. Call me crazy for crying at that part but if you have read the Appendices in LOTR you'll see why. I cried when Elrond came to Aragorn and said that one line in sindarin which once more if you have read the Appendices you will find Gilraen's last words to Aragorn (her son) were much the same for a reason. They did not put the Scouring of the Shire in and Saruman and Wormtongue never made an appearance which leaves audiences wondering. But Sean Astin's performance was by far the best because he goes from scared hobbit to realizing that he must help get the Ring destroyed at all costs and so becomes a much more memorable and powerful character.
AWESOME MOVIE - First of all this movie was definitly the best out of the 3 which they were all awesome so i don't have a word to describe this third installment. Sad? Yes! I'm surprised i didn't cry especially with Pippin singing. There were so many things i liked about this movie. It was sad that Gollum died but I had a guess that it was going to happen. I also found this movie kind of amusing because my friend saw it with me. I have to say what happened. If u've seen the movie u no the part near the end when Legolas is all clean and dressed in that coat thing when Frodo just awakens? well the theatre was dead silent and my friend whistled which made other ppl whistle and cheer it was great.O and Eowyn kicked that dark dudes ass. That had to b ONE of my fav. parts. Well overall if u haven't seen this movie... SEE IT!!! CHELSO P.S~ Orlando Bloom looked very sexy in this one;)
awesome awesome! The best movie I've ever seen!marilynne
I thought that the return of the king was good and all but, well, they needed to show more of Aragorn, Gimli, and Legolas because at one point of the movie I thought they were dead!Mary Stuart
Hello all Orlando Fans! Well in the 3rd edition of the lord of the rings, Legolas(Orlando) wasn't shown as much as in the 2nd. Yet, it was still excellent. Yet, again in this movie Legolas does one of his killer tricks. Like in the first he swings aroung the horses neck, and in the 2nd he rides on a shield down the steps while shooting his bow. But none of these tricks bets the one in the 3rd edition. Im not going to ruin it for you, you'll have to check it out for yourself. I'll tell you this though, look for something big in the fight sequence.Love, Ashley
I saw the movie last night and even though it is soo long it has the best special effects. I waz kinda disappointed b/c the only showed Orlando 15 times and most of those time it waz just a little bit. He only got to say like 5 lines. So that waz a downer but besides that that movie kicked butt. My friend and i were at the edge of our seats the whole time. (Well, b/c we had to go pee too b/c we drank a whole monster drink. lol! And b/c it waz sooo good.) I would give it 5 stars.~yabbaduze
I thought that Return of the King was a hecka hecka [x a million] awesome!! This film better win oscars and all them awards...heck i'll even make up awards for it to win... mm lets see like the Leggy award... i onno i'm half asleep right bow but i thought that the battle scenes were sooo awesome! And the comedic reliefs in the movies were exactly where they should have been. It actually made me cry...I also cried at sad parts[numerious times]. Aragorn looked kinda chubby at the last scene at the coronation but heck...who cares LotR is still the best movie ever made...it's like Titanic [x infinity] lolx...I'm quite upset and depressed at the fact that Return of the King is the last part to the trilogy and it's the end...I didn't want to leave the theatre!! But meh I've decided that every year I shall set up a LotR marathon where I will watch all 3 movies!!!P.S. Legolas [also Aragorn and Gandalf] rocked the casbah!!!! Dayum Straight!
Absolutely brilliant, I found myself ducking when the boulders were being shot at the screen. My favourite part would have to be when Legolas killed the Oliphaunt and slid down it's trunk. Then Gimli said, in annoyance, 'That still only counts as one!' Pure cinematic brilliance! Orlando looked mighty fine too! Claire
Wow!!!! This was the best one of all, it was phenominal! My husband and I enjoyed every minute! We went to the midnight showing, we were so excited! All the movies are great, no doubt about that! My husband and I watch them over and over, we can't get enough! The whole cast gave us one of the best performances of their lives! All the emotions were there, it was as if we were on the journey too!!!! Thanks so much, I am a fan to you all!!! You all made the movie worth watching over and over again!! It will forever touch my heart & be in my life!!! Thanks again,Kathy, (Georgia)2003
OMG! THAT MOVIE TOTALLY ROCKED! THE WHOLE TIME I WAS SITTING THERE I KEPT THINKING, "HOLY COW!!!!!" ORLANDO LOOKED SO FINE! I JUST WANTED TO LICK THE SCREEN LOL AND SURPRISINGLY PIPPIN HAS A GREAT VOICE! I THINK YOU ALL SHOULD GO AND SEE IT IT'S TOTALLY WORTH THE MONEY AND THE TIME!!Ashley
Return of the King was SO awesome!!!!! Orlando is so hot...omg. I especially liked the part when Legolas did that thing with the elephant - my friends and I were sitting in the back row and we started squealing and applauding, and everyone turned around and looked at us wierd, and we were like "What?" It was so much fun! I also liked it when he wears that jacket thing and the crown-*swoon* And you know how Frodo was shirtless for like a whole scene? Why couldn't Legolas be shirtless? WHY NOT????????? :) But anyway, excellent movie. If you haven't seen it yet, do!Fleur
Return of the King was by far the best one out of the three!!! The adventure was better and the action was better. It was also very scary! When the huge spider came on the screen i was hypervenalating, i was so scared!!! Legolas (Orlando Bloom) was also very good in this one. He is good in all of them, especially this one. The part with the elephant was awesome!!!! All the people in the theater started clapping during that part. I really enjoyed it!!!!!!!!Elyse
Return of the King was by far my favourite of the trilogy; for all the Legolas fans, you didn't seem to see quite as much of him in this one- at least in my opinion. But there was a killer scene where he took down a huge tusked elephant like it was nothing (I know everyone comments on that, but it was great!) Lots of drama, I was literally shaking in some parts- this movie won't get old, even after the 2384th time I see it!<3~ Heather
i thought the movie was absolutly brilliant!! it was totally different from the book though i supose it was to add more excitment for the people who had read the book! Orlando looked soooo fit init (but he always does neway!!) i went to see it on wednesday the day it came out and every single seat was taken! But anyway i reall really loved the movie and its such a shame there arnt any more!!Lisa
it was awsum with a capital A p.s. orlando was hotromy
I simply thought the movie was amazing, however I was dissapointed on how little there was of Legolas. But when you do get to see him, its for about a split second. But still, the movie was exellent.Rebecca, USA
that movie was sooooooooooooooooo awesome. me and my friends won this LOTR essay contest thing so even though it came out December 17 in NY, we saw it dec first. since it was onlt my school every time we saw Legolas (orlando) we started screamin like crazy. The teachers were lookin at us and telling us to be quiet. i was on the edge of my seat. It was really exciting. It's the best of the 3 but i like all of em. Billy Boyd has a really great voice. Orlando looked sooooooooooooooo sexy, like always. I just love him. It was really funny and sad. Gollum made me crack up wit the "stupid fat hobbit" All in all it was real goooooooooooooooooooood. i hand it to peter for making like the best movie ever Love (especially to orlando and anyone that loves him as much as i do) Zana p.s. i am so saddddddddddddddd that the LoTr trilogy is over
Great movie! It has it all, action, adventure, emotion. It didn't feel like 3+ hours. Fascinating to see someone else's interpretation of the scenes I pictured when I read the book. Very bummed that there isn't another one to look forward to.....maybe a "pre-quel" of the Hobbitt? I was watching intently for Legolas....not enough screen time for him if you ask me. I guess I'll have to see it again!agate
The movie was very good! the graphics were great! i was a bit sad when it was over because you just want it to keep going! i say that everyone should go and see this movie! and if you havent seen the other two, RENT THEM! they're the greatest movies ever! ORLANDO BLOOM is sooo HOT!!!! Alyssa Burnett, Canada
All I have to say is legolas looked great!!!!susan
All in all, it was a good movie. A long one, yes precious, but a good one. I felt like I was going to be shortchanged by the cutting of Saruman's scenes, but in the end of things, the movie was less confusing as it would be with constant throwbacks to Isengard. The basic point of RotK is to focus on Aragorn... excuse me... King Elessar and his path to his fate. We see the famous scenes of Pippin and the Palantir (which made me expel a fit of giggles, thinking about what the set must have been like shooting Billy Boyd having a spaz attack with a fake Palantir. This caused many eyes to be glared at me). But back to that Saruman issue. I think that Pete Jackson made a smart decision of removing the Saruman ending from RotK and putting it on the Extended Edition DVD, because the other basic point of RotK is to focus on Minas Tirith, and how Denethor and his royal family (Boromir and Faramir) decline as Denethor opposes the fact that Aragorn is the king of both Gondor and Arnor (even though more emphasis is on Gondor than Arnor). To go from Rohan and Minas Tirith and Minas Morgul to go back to the flooded Isengard would seem a bit foolish. But back to the review.Legolas looks wonderful (as always) in this ending to the trilogy. The scene with the oliphaunt was amazing. There were some scenes where you could tell it was CG Animation (thank you WETA Digital), but mostly it was seamless streaming of live action (god bless harnesses to keep our favorite elf from getting hurt falling off of the sandbags) to CG animation. Eowyn and the Witch King sort of confused me. In TTT, we hear from Gollum that the Nazgul cannot be killed. And doesn't Aragorn say in FotR that the Black Riders can't be killed? So, since we have heard that the Witch King from Minas Morgul is the highest of all Nazgul, that means he wouldn't have died. ALERT THE PRESSES, we have our first error... now... 33 more to go. At the end, when Gollum bit off Frodo's finger... I wasn't expecting them to show that. Well, I mean they would, but they wouldn't. It's kind of hard to explain, but it would be like, "Ok we are going to show Gollum biting at Frodo's finger, show a little blood, show Gollum with the ring, and that's it." No. They show the finger off the hand, the blood covering Frodo's hand and stub of a finger. After drinking a red cherry slushie watching this, I slowly put the slushie down, and tried my hardest not to go "squicky" (a word we use meaning "sickened"). I avoided being known at the one who squicked over the seat. Not a pretty sight. But back on topic. I also wasn't expecting them to show the thing with Sam and Rosie. I understand that they tell that in the book, but they also don't mention the Scourging of the Shire in RotK or Tom Bombadil in FotR, so why include Sam and Rosie? But I thought it was a sweet ending to a action filled story. And speaking of sweet, I cried when Aragorn and Arwen kissed. As soon as I saw Legolas in the front of the parade of elves (which made me feel quite proud, oddly enough) and seeing Elrond Halfelven there, I had the feeling that Arwen Undomiel would be there. At this scene, not only did I cry and wish that it was me for a split-second, my father practically gagged in the seat next to me. Oh well. One thing that did irk me was the multiple blackouts. I thought the scene where Frodo goes off on the boat to the Grey Havens would be a great ending, leaving us guessing. And then there was the black screen. Much clapping. And then more scenes came on. We thought it was one trick ending. We laughed and payed attention. And then it did it again. And again. Pretty soon we had seen 4 black screens and thought that there was something wrong with the reel. Backtracking for a quick minute, many people who haven't read the original text by J.R.R. Tolkein know nothing of the relationship with Faramir and Eowyn in RotK. And they still won't. I thought that the relationship with Faramir and Eowyn was a very good relationship. They both did what they could to please their rulers. Another thing that made my heart kind of shrivel (in a totally good non-Grinch way) was when Eowyn called Theoden "father". Or was my ears manipulating me? I could have sworn Theoden was Eowyn's UNCLE. Either she treated him like a father, or thats another error for New Line Cinema. But in conclusion, Peter Jackson and of course the Fellowship (and also the talented Miranda Otto, Cate Blanchett, Liv Tyler, Christopher Lee, and Andy Serkis) made a classic tale of good versus evil, light versus dark, when love truly does conquer , into a phenomenal movie trilogy that will most likely be as respected in the future as we respect the Star Wars trilogy. One can only hope.
My Rating: A- Rachel Harris
The Return of the King was an absoloutley beautiful and echanting film. It had a good share of drama, romance, and action. Each story is concluded in the best way possible. Arwen and Aragorns story is heartwarming and bings back a peice of "old fashioned romance" with dramatic and beautiful scenes. The hobbits show the growth and maturation that takes place through evil times. The men show bravery and hope in lost times. This movie well make your laugh, cry, and well give you big adrenline kicks. Dont miss out on a piece of art- The Return of the King.Lara
By far the most captavating of them all, return of the king was amazing! pippin and sam stole the show! this movie better win every damn acadamy award because they deserve them . not so may parts of aragorn, legolas, and gimili i forgot about them at one point (hey its a long movie and i missed orlando), so that sucked, and they cut a lot of parts off that they had in the commercials, buts its ok. so many great scenes, like when sam says" i can't carry it for u, but i can carry u" it was so emotional, and so was billy boyds singing, wonderful!!! i didnt even care about the amazing special effects (even though they rocked), but more about how the human aspects of friendship, loyalty, love, and courage were dipicted. just ...amazing! everyone of the cast did an amazing job, i tip my hat off to peter jackson, and i'm so sad that this is finally the end but when it comes out on dvd i will be the 1st one on line (again!!)Alina (nyc) P.S. orlando bloom was so amazingly handsome especially in his crown, and aragorn too, i loved his kiss w/ arwen, the theater clapped like crazy!!!
Ok, it does suck that Orlando didn't have enough screen time but just think that when it comes out u can just replay that part as often as u want :D i have one comment for anyone who thinks Elijah Wood is hot too (i do) If u've seen this movie u no how dirty his face is (even tho he can't help it lol) if u look at his eyes they're like amazing. they're soooo blue that they stand out quite a bit from his face . I love his eyes and i love OB's eyes too in the movie and in real life they're gorgeous!P.S. KICK ASS MOVIE!!! Chelsea
Return of the King is undoubtably the BEST FILM I HAVE EVER SEEN! Not only because Orli is in it, but the whole story is fantastic. The battles are bigger, the romance sweeter, and the gorgeous Elf even cuter! If you haven't seen it yet...WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?!?!?!?!?! ^_^Emma
I saw it and almost instantly I fell in love with the movie. Although I think Orlando should have had a much bigger roll in the 3rd film. He had a much smaller one than I actually expected. He was FINE in that movie and thanks to that I almost know every thing about the trilogy of LOTR now because I studied it for his sake. It's really interesting. I've seen it once. I definately shows love, desire, and burden. It has a lot of emotions. My favorite part was when Legolas took down the whole elephant and all the creatures controling it and then Legolas slid down the leg and Gimli said it only counted as one cuz through out the whole movie they were having a bet of who could kill the most enemys and Legolas was mainly doing it cuz he was making the dwarf fight harder so it took more progress out of him.Patricia
What can i say? Um. WOW. It was awesome. I mean i knew what was gonna happen but it was still a shocker at every part. cool.Alice
Hey my name's Karlee Johnson! I saw Return of the King and I thought it was totally awesome!!!!!!!!!! It's probably my favorite out of the trilogy!!!!!!!All the actor's were superb in their roles it couldn't have been better!!!!!! And I love Orlando's big scene when he takes down one of those ig elephant things!!!It's so cool!!! Bye!Love, ~*~ Karlee~*~
i think the movie is awesome its one of my favorite movies of all time. i love u orlando so much u r awesome as legolas!!!!!!!!! its the best lord of the rings movie and i've already have watched it twice in the past 2 days and i love it so much!!!!! if i had one wish i would marry orlando bloom i also think billy boyd is pretty cute but i love orlando way more i cant wait till troy comes out and pirates of the caribbean 2 I love u orlando and i also love lord of the rings thank u peter jackson for making the movies.Whitney p.s. orlando i will meet u one time in my life if its the last thing i do!!!! I love u!!!
Return of the King was a great movie!!!! I am very sad the trilogy is over!!! The movie was very emotional I thought because the Fellowship, after going through to save each other, had to break up. And seeing what each character faced was pretty emotional too. I liked all the battles exept for the one they missed at the end!! But i dont blame them for not showing it. It was a great movie and I suggest everyone see it!!! Oh and Orlando is sooooo HOTT as Legolas bringing down the oliphont!!!Ali
ROTK was a great movie! i didn''t get bored. it got me on the edge of my seat!! My favorite part was when Legolas jumped on the elphant and killed all them people. I wish the journey didn't end! they were great movies! I hope i can be a great actor (for me actress) like orlando. He has so much talent!~*~Janna~*~
I already sent in a review, but I forgot to mention the spectacular voice of Billy Boyd which was my 2nd favorite part in the movie. If he made a cd I would buy as many copies as I could without having to sell my house.Jennifer Torreano
This movie was awesome! I just went to see it last week and it's all I've been talking about. I've read the books at least three times and I'm glad to say they kept the movie pretty accurate with the story! I love how they portrayed Shelob! My favorite scene is when the Aragorn his leading his army and yells, "For Frodo!" and charges! Me and my cousins were bawling when Frodo says goodbye and leaves with the elves. This was an amazing movie!Rebecca
Return Of The King - After waiting a year for the final installment of The Lord Of The Rings Trilogy, I was blown away when it finally came. Sitting front and center for three hours and fifteen minutes of mind shattering talent, I screamed, I laughed, and I cried terribly. In my opinion, The Return Of The King was more enthralling than the first two films combined. The film went more in depth of each character, even showing Gandalf's vulnerable side. And as finally, the ring was destroyed, I left the theater with a feeling of contentment and joy, rather than a feeling of loss since the movies were finished. The only thing that I can find, that I didn't like, was the fact that Peter Jackson skipped completely over the fact that the Shire was invaded by Saruman, and the hobbits revolt, led by Merry, Pippen, Sam, and Frodo. It would have been spectacular! But, as he "didn't like" that part of the book, he didn't film it. Nevertheless, The Return Of The King is by far, the most amazing film I have ever seen.Sarah
The LOTR:ROTK was by far the best one out of the three. But if you ask me i really like Orli more then the LOTRs movies hey the only reason i saw them was for Orli n-e ways. But i have to those three movies are really good. They are the best movies Ive ever seen in my life and trust me i have seen over three hunred movies in my 13 on earth. I was bumbed out by the ending u expected more, but who care 2 hours of Orli to droil over thats all i want. and when semagol dies that was very sad. i cryed i felt like i those people or creatures or what ever u call them because i watched these movies for over three years now and their almost apart of my life now.- Marina Bloom lol
I thought it was AWSOME!!!!!! At the end when Legolas walked through the door to Frodo's room, I swear I stopped breathing for like 5 seconds! I cried like 90 times during the movie too. I saw it twice in 2 weeks. It was great!Osuknnowit
I thought the movie was great. definetly the best out of the 3. the effects were amazing, just as the past 2. orlando didnt seem to have as much screen time, but you dont really notice because u are too busy trying to hold in your bladder movements. the movie is really long, and i suggest talking a potty break before seeing it, because you DO NOT want to miss one single second of this movie. oh, and come prepared for very loud screaming from the Nazgul and thier giant flyng thingies(apologies). this will be a staple in movie histiory, and you dont want to miss the chance to see it in theaters.-Nat
I loved the Return of the King! I got to see the first showing at midnight! If you thought Legolas was hot in Fellowship and Towers, he is even more lucious in ROTK! The entire movie is great and you will not want to blink even once. Best of all three! From LOTRchick06
ROTK came out in Australia on Boxing Day and I have already seen it 3 times! The latest viewing was part of an all night LOTR marathon! Seeing all 3 movies together on the big screen was nothing short of INCREDIBLE! Ok, ok, on to my review... Well, it WAS incredible (that word doesn't do it justice). Even though I'd read the books and knew what to expect, I was still completely thrilled by everything! FAVE BITS? Definitely Legolas bringing down the Oliphaunt - very cool. The look he gives Gimli at the end is great - so cute. Equally breath-taking was Legolas with his crown. Actually LOOKING like a Prince of Mirkwood - SO VEEERRRRYYY HOT!!! Fav scene unrelated to Legolas was the killing of the Witch King by Eowyn - go girl!! NOT SO FAVE BITS? Well, the LACK of Legolas didn't go unnoticed (along with Gimli and Aragon). I feel like I spent more time waiting for him to get some screen time then I did paying attention to the rest of the movie (And there was nothing wrong with the rest of the movie!). I also missed the development of Eowyn and Faramir's relationship. I thought it was so well done in the book (but it will hopefully show up on the Extended Edition). And lastly, even though I accept that it would have dragged the end of the movie on even longer, I was disappointed that the death of Aragon and the departure of Legolas AND Gimli to Valinor didn't even rate a mention! Doesn't the fact that Legolas stayed in Middle Earth for his friends mean ANYTHING in relation to the morals of LOTR!? (Especially compared with Samwise marrying Rosie!) Ok, now I think I'm upsetting myself... Overall? Love it, love it, LOVE IT! Still haven't decided which chapter I like best (possibly the Extended version of The Two Towers), but at least I can say that ROTK was NOT a let-down! If you haven't seen it yet, I pity you... (Damn! Legolas vs. the Oliphaunt! Is that Elf Prince HOT or what!!!!? That's it, I wanna see it again...) scullyx84
An amazing movie! My personal favorite of the three. There are parts were you will just want to weep (at least, I did) and parts that will scare the pants off you. The effects were amazing and there was so much emotion just pouring out of it! Well, worth the 3 hours and 34 minute sit. The actors did such a wonderful job and Peter Jackson really put out a spectacular movie. I have seen it 4 times so far. It's well worth the money you spend!Alicia
I just saw Return of the King and it was GREAT! I thought it was the best movie out of the trilogy. All the actors were great (especially who else Orlando Bloom...) and the ending was awesome...I was sitting in the theater biting my nails at the end...you don't know what's going to happen next! And it definatly made me cry...All in all it was an awesome movie. I went to see it just because Orlando Bloom was in it, but I left thinking it was a great movie for more reasons than Orli....-Mary
not enough legolas. enuf said.coasterman
Lord of the Rings ....Return of the Kings is one of the best movie i have ever seen!! If i could rate it 1-10 it would totally be a 10!!!! all the way!! It had alot of action and i loved the part when they went into the cave that belonged to the dead....that was awsome.....i have seen all of the lord of the rings and loved all of them!!!!your friend Erin Bagwell
hi. i think Orlando is the best actor for the part of legolas greenleaf he is very talented actor and he has the best voice for those sort of movies and i cant wait to see his next movie Troy. From Sascha Leonard P.S he is also is the hottest actor in the world
A truely fantastic job! This is the kind of movie you'll want to see again and again! This movie is one of those movies that keeps you on the edge of your seat saying to yourself, What's going to happen next? Will Frodo make it to Mordor? Will he throw the ring into the fires of Mount Doom? Will he make it back to the Shire? It may not have ended exactly as the book ended but it was extraordinary all the same. Besides, if it ended like the book, it would have taken another hour, give or take a few. This movie was the one movie I'd been anticipating all year since Jan.1, 2003. Thank you to all the actors who did this movie because without them, kids would still be saying, "I can't wait untill they make a movie of this!"GolfgirlCC
I definetly recommend ROTK as a movie to buy and see over and over again. I loved it when I saw...especially Orlando Bloom. I want to see it for the 3rd time! I can't wait until it comes out on dvd!CAD3788
Orlando SO did not have enuf screen time!! luv-ya Orli!Maria
I saw the ROTK opening (US) day. One of the best afternoons of my life!!!This is even after I had to fight tooth and nail for a seat (theatre was pack), and after I evacuated the building along with every other fan (no reason was given just red lights flashing and loud speakers going), after I stood out in the rain, shoulder to shoulder with thousands of other people, in order to be let back in, and had to wait inside too before they started up the movie again. But HA!~ it was worth it!!! The highlights would be the parts with Orlando in them (naturally), especially when after the effort of single-handedly bringing down one of those huge battle elephants, (oilyphants..spl?) Legolas gets an angry look from Gimli who says something like "still only counts as one". ~Katerina
The movie is sooo good some parts i almost cried! Action, comedy and emotion in the movie! Orlando was hot and great! 3 out of 4 stars but its soooooooooooooooooooooooooooo long! OMG! Bottom Line: Long but Great!MIAMAX8
ORLANDO BLOOM IS SOOOOOOOOO FINE IN THE LORD OF THE RINGS TRILOGY! HE IS SUCH A GREAT ACTOR. HE SEEMS PRETTY LAID BACK ON AND OFF SCREEN!LUV, TAYLOR BICE LUV HIM ALWAYS
i thought return of the king was a great movie. but i really thought that legolas should of had more lines in the movie but overall it was great.PerfectCassy0408
I thought it was a great movie. The way it tied everything together from the first two movies. I couldn't wait to see it but now that I did I wish there were more Lord of the Rings movies to look forward too! Also I have to say that Legolas was not in it as much as I know a lot of us Orly fans would've liked! But it was still an excellent movie! I can't wait to get the trilogy!Kelly Lynne Orlando Bloom fanatic
I saw the final film, Return of the King, about two days ago. The film is so emotionally moving that you'll find yourself crying. The graphics were great, like the other reviews I've read, I too jumped when boulders were being thrown at the camera. I thought Samwise, Merry, and Pippin made the film the best it could be. Also with the film showing Smeagal's history, it really gives you an idea of how the ring affected it's beholder. Yes, Legolas didn't have as many scenes as we would have liked but all in all it was a fantastic movie. It was worth every cent of the $6.50 I paid.Siobhan
My new favorite movie has become the Lord of the Rings, the trilogy. I just saw the last one two nights ago and it was the best. They are all amazing, especially with the help of Orlando Bloom might I add! He really did an incredible job in this film. There is a scene where his character jumps on the back of an elephant, and goes on to "sleigh" all the "bad guys." Absolutely great scene! The movie started with the most intriguing memory of "Golum" or "Smegel" before he became the creature we all know and love. And as always there is plenty of fighting in there, and plenty of conquering too! I have to say the ending was great, the only part that could make it better was if the characters could walk out of the screne. I recomend this movie to anyone who wants to see something worth seeing, and being entertained. The 3 hours and thirty five minutes goes by too fast. Go see it!USCBabey
Uggh that movie was the best, i luved the part where legolas took down the elephant, or at least i think thats wut happened, lol. but anyway that was an awesome movie! Orlando u rock!Pstar155
I thought the Return of the King was great! I mean, I followed the series ever since it started and couldn't wait for the next movie to come out. I really thought the movie was great, but there is some grieving over it being over. I really didn't want the series to be over, I mean, I just want to know what happens to the elves, Frodo and Gandalf. But I know it sherly won't happen.ROTK is a great movie, and all the actors did a great job and so did the director and all the others that made the movie AWSOME!! Orlando of course, looked quite charming (and hot!) as usual. He did a great job, and my simpithies go to him. Good Luck Orli with your career! From Sonya, a huge, 12 yr. old, fan of Orli
THIS IS THE BEST MOVIE IN THE WORLD!!!! Ok i'm really obsessed with Orlando Bloom who plays Legolas in ROTK. I watched the movie already 20 times in the Theaters. I don't think i ever got bored of it even once.Maria
Ohh the lord of the rings return of the king was the most best movie i've ever seen!! i love orlando toooo much.Shannon
The return of the king was good but it could use more OB close-ups.bighousedon
OMG that was THE BEST movie ever! I got there 45 minutes early and it was totally worth it! I loved the part where Legolas took down that oliphant!!! The one thing I didn't like very much was the fact that Legolas was in so little of it! But when he is in it he totally kicks ASS! He looked so hot in the end with the crown on his head! I LOVE ORLANDO BLOOM, he is such a talented actor plus he's totally hot! I am so going to see it again and again!Grace
Wicked awesome! I've seen it twice already and I guarantee I'll see it again. I saw Pirates 5 times in theatres and now I own it. Lord of the Rings trilogy rocks the fact that Orlando is in there it makes it rock even harder. He is so FINE!!!!!!Patricia
First let me tell you how much I am addicted to these movies. I've seen the first movie 5 times, the second movie 9 times(I think Legolas[Orlando Bloom] looks the hottest and has the most on screen time in this movie and I've seen it so many times I could probably quote you the whole movie this very second), and the third movie 2 times(I can't wait until it comes out on video!). I've read all of the books including the Hobbit and I'm in the middle of reading The Silmarillion which tells you about how middle-earth came into being. The Lord of the Rings: Return of the King was an amazingly good movie. I laughed and I cried it really touched me. Legolas, Aragon, and Gimli aren't in this as much as I had expected. Once they go into the mountain pass you don't see them for a while. Legolas should have had more time on screen(He's so hott). The battle scenes are awesome but I thought that it would have been a bigger. There are many things that I could tell you that are wrong or just don't make any sense to me in all three of the movies but the only reason I noticed them was because I've watched them so many times and any other person who was just watching it wouldn't have seen, noticed, or cared about it because they are mostly pretty small mistakes and some had to have happened for the story-line to go through smoothly. I think that they should make a movie on The Silmarillion just so the people can understand everything about where Sauron came from, how the elves, men, and dwarves were created, and where the elves are leaving to.I still think Legolas should have had his own little speech or something at least longer than the little quarrel between him and Aragon before the battle of Helm's Deep. I think that anyone else who is in love with Orlando Bloom as much as I am agrees (HOTTIE). lol. If you haven't seen any of the movies or just one or two of them go see the other's. Everything will make so much more sense to you and plus this is one epic adventure the you don't want to be left out of. So go right now to the movies unless it's midnight and none of the movie theaters are open then go see it tomorrow morning. You have to see this over and over again. Danielle, NJ P.S. I LOVE ORLANDO BLOOM HE'S SO HOTT LOL
I thought that the Last LOTR was the best one. Probably because it was the final ending to the trilogy. I'm not a die hard fan of LOTR but they all were really good! If there are any more movies of LOTR, I definitely will wait in line to see them. I'm more of a fan of Orlando Blooms. The last one was the best though!Soccerqtee07 (if you have a reply then send it to me at soccerqtee07, by the way, I LOVE ORLANDO BLOOM!)
I am a 32 year old woman, who until Christmas eve had not seen any of the "Ring" movies. I am a good mom and took my boys to see it. Granted with not seeing the first two, I was lost for the most part. But what I saw was fantastic. The visual effects, the actors. I can say this was a wonderful movie. I then went to the local store and bought Lord Of the Rings 1 and 2. I went and watched them over the weekend and found myself back at the theater to watch 3 again to see what I had missed the first time seeing it. I found myself to love the characters more this last time seeing it. If you have never seen these movies, this is something the whole family can enjoy. I now find myself reading the books. ( I find that so far, the books are more in depth, and makes what you have seen that much more visual while reading.)I am ashamed that I did not go to see the first two in theaters, glad that I have finally watched them all, and find myself sad that there may not be any other sequels to these movies. I give a rating of 10 on a scale of 10 for the last of the "Ring" movies."Return of the King" could not have been any better if they tried. Trixie McMaken Russia, Ohio
Do you find yourself feeling a little down now thats its over? And do you find yourself thiniking "my god has it been 2 years since the first 1 already?". Well thank God for DVD's.OMG this film kicks ass. Was suprised that Legolas wasn't shown as much but his major scene in the battle kicked ass. I laughed at the end of it coz he just looks like "well that was easy". Legolas n Gimli get on so well n its nice 2 c that. Every1 keeps saying how they dint like the false endings but I did because I haven't read the book (i promised i wouldn't coz I knew I would complain bout everything that isn't in the film like my stupid b/f throughout it all!!!) So I wanted to kno what happened to all the different characters anyway. I was so glad that Arwen n Aragorn were reunited. But does anyone else thing that Viggo Mortenson in real life just spoils the whole look??? You have to see this for Orlando's sake lol. It's gr8 Peter Jackson is my new hero. Can't wait for the box set to come out. Alana xXx
I saw ROTK the 2nd week it came out. I cried four times! One was with Sam and Frodo, and one was at the part when Faramir leaves and almost dies. I cried when the ring was destroyed. OH and also when Arwen sees into the future and sees Aragorn and their kids. Also Legolas was a even more major hotty than before!!!!-Orli's #1 Fan PS- Isn't Orli soooo cute!!!!
Return of the King was definitely one of the best, most incredible movies I have ever seen! I saw it two days in a row, and I am planning on seeing it a few more time before I buy the DVD. It had awesome fights and battle, moments of suspense, romance, and even insets of comedy. Plus, as it was the last movie of the trilogy, it had a good ending, didn't leave you hanging. I would recommend the movie to anyone, except for little kids of course, or anyone who can't sit through a 3 1/2 hour movie. And the length was completely bearable because the movie was captivating. Everyone should see it!Rebecca
i thought it was great! orlando was a hott legolas as always! i really hope they make the hobbit!~*julia*~
I just wanted to say, that if I didn't think that Orlando was TOTALLY sexy in the first two movies, in the third, with his elephant stunt, he looked absolutely incredible. I'm really glad that he that part where he was the focus of the whole part. Awesome movie by the way, best of the trilogy, the most moving by far.Ginger
Oh my goodness! That has to be probaly the best movie yet! I wish that hadn't been the last one! The definelty get my vote for all the awards possible! Especialy orlando! Could he been any hotter as the brave (& sexy!) elf? Keep going orlando! I love Sooooo.... Much!!!!Kelly H. Canton, Ohio
I think The Return Of The King was really good i have never been all that interested in the lotr movies and i havent seen the first and second and my friend from melbourne was down and she asked me to see it with her i had doubts at first but i loved it especially the bits with orlando in it because he is sooo hot and i cant wait to see the other twoJacki
Return Of The King was a bloody brilliant film! It was very emotional for me i needed a box of tissues there with me! In my personal opinion i think ROTK was better than one and two put together i know i might sound crazy but oh well. I was a bit upset with the ending though i didnt want Frodo to leave. But my god seeing Orlando in the new elvish costume with the crown on widended up my eyes! I ve just seen it twice and going to see it again it will just make the journey more enjoyable for me! What an amazing film pitty it had to end now!Natasha a.k.a Orlandosluvingangel
Hello! I'm Christine and i am from Greece! You are the best of all!!!!! '' The Return Of The King'' was a great movie BUT really thought that Legolas (Orlando) should of had more lines in the movie BUT it was great!!! I love Orlando toooooooooooooooooo muuuuuuuuuuch!!!!!!!!!!!Love Christine!
THe ROTK was a good movie and I have already seen i twice. I was kinda disappointed that Aragorn, Legolas, and Gimli weren't shown as much as they were in the second one. I would have thought that Aragorn would be shown alomst nonstop since he is the King, but hey I'm not the moviemakers. Legolas' big fight sequence with the oliphaunt was awesome, me & my friend started whooping and cheering for him and he also looked good doing it so that was a +10. Pippin's singing was so unbelieveable that it took my breath away and almost brought me to tears. Aragorn looked very nice with his hair pulled halfway back. I thought that Smeagol was so cute in the second one, but in the third i couldn't stand him mainly b/c he turned Frodo against Sam ( Poor Sam) and secondly b/c of what he did to Frodo (gross). I loved Sam, he was so badass! I also liked Eowyn and Merry they were so awesome and brave. My favorite part was when they showed Legolas in the blue shirt, whew boy, my boyfriend got so mad at me, but I don't care: Legolas looked soooooooooooooooooooooooooooo... good! And in his crown, OMG! Orlando is soooooo... HOTTTT! Good movie!Traci, Texas
There's only one word that can describe ROTK....AMAZING!!! I took my lil bro to see it...and he never admits to liking anything...but even he couldn't deny what an awesome movie it was...i must have cried about 3 times! it was a very emotional movie...and Legolas (omg!) hottness....that thing he does during one of the battle seens off the big elephant was incredible....it made my jaw drop lol...over all EVERYONE should see this movie...it's amazing
The movie ROTK rocked it was one of the best out of the trilogy. It was good all around, there was action, romance, adventure, and even some humor was thrown around. The best scene was when Legolas fought all of the people off the elephant. Has anyone noticed that Orlando's character never gets dirty?LOTR Rcks!, by Money
Awesome awesome!!! I can't say it was exact to the book, they missed some fairly big parts! But the special effects are amazing and the acting is incredible! The emotion in the movie is so intense! I laughed, I cried (it moved me Bob, for you Veggie Tale fans :D) Its a pretty awesome movie, I'll be surprised if it doesn't get some grammys. there wasn't much of Leggy tho. BUT HE'S STILL AS HOT AS ALWAYS!! ;) I highly recommend it, I think everyone who is into lord of the rings will enjoy this installment as much, if not more than the other two movies.
Return of the King was fantastic. The perfect culmination of such a foundation of cinema history. But was anyone else mildly disturbed by Gandalf when they all gather in Frodo's room? That whole sequence was a little cheesy for my liking. And pre-slimification Smeagol freaked me out. And don't even get me started on the cry of the ringwraiths!! (Anyone else with bleeding ears when the witch king left Minas Morgul?) But despite those minor annoyances, and the fact that half of the book was dropped from the cinematic makeover, Return of the King is an absolutely incredible film. It left me in tears!! The battle sequences were amazing, and the heart of the film remained. If Peter Jackson doesn't get the Oscar for best director, I'm gonna sue. lots of geeky Lord of the Rings love, Kirstin.
The movie blew me away. Though both the Fellowship of the Ring and The Two Towers were fabulous, The Return of the King is better than both of them. It is three hours plus of intensity. The battle that will decide the fate of Middle Earth and the end of Frodo and Sam's journey is so full of suspense and emotion that I was shaking for an hour after leaving the theater. I cried at the end. The acting was wonderful, spectactular, amazing. Gimli continued to offer comic relief which was much needed as I've never seen a more intense movie. I was afraid that the movies would not do the books justice but I've been proven wrong. Peter Jackson has created an outstanding cinematic achievment. The only thing I didn't favor much was the lack of Orlando Bloom...but I dont think that's really something to complain about. He was wonderful and his incredible talent shined as usual. I've been complaining lately about high ticket prices for movies but I swear I would have paid five dollars an hour to see that in a good movie theater and I encourage LOTR fans to spend their money well and see it before it comes out. Now I'm counting the days until I can own it and devote an entire day to watching all three movies. The character development was outstanding, and the connection between the characters was apparent and beautiful. I'm only sad that the epic is over and I cant look forward to any more LOTR movies. Thank you Peter Jackson and the cast and crew of The Lord of the Rings for giving me and all other fans such a wonderful, touching, and exciting experience!Riahwriter2
I really enjoyed the movie even though it was freaky but I love orlando bloom who killed the elephant during the war. I really hope people really see this movie.Claire
I was hardcore disappointed that Legolas wasn't present for more than 90% of the film and when he was present he had nearly no speaking parts. I also have arachnophobia so that one scene wasn't so groovy. I needed my Leggy to protect me! :(Amy
Return of the King was as expected: really good. Legolas kicks some serious butt! The graphics are awesome. The only thing I didn't like was how you thought the movie was going to end and it didn't.Chadwick
I saw RotK on opening night, and have seen it three times since. I absolutely adored this movie. It was fantastic, and without doubt my favorite out of the three. If this film does not win Picture of the Year at the Oscars, I'm going to be very disappointed and upset. The whole movie was just so exciting; I sat on the edge of my seat the entire time, all four times. The relationships that developed in this one were unlike any other. It was funny, sad, dramatic, suspenseful...everything I love in a movie, all rolled into one. The funny parts I enjoyed: when Gimli and Legolas were counting their hits. Gimli had some amazingly funny one-liners in RotK..."That still only counts as one!" Merry and Pippen, they were a little more serious in this one, but still their goofy Hobbit selves ("You smoke too much Pippen..."). I laughed so hard at some parts, especially with Gimli's witty lines. I cried when Pippen sang and they put it to the battle scene (I'm getting chills right now just talking about it). I have the soundtrack, and I play Steward of Gondor all the time just to hear Billy sing. It was amazing. I thought Aragorn, or Viggo, whichever, did a wonderful job. Singing in elvish is just beautiful. Everything elvish is beautiful. I cried when Aragorn said, "My Friends...you bow to no one" and everyone bowed to the hobbits. Tears were just streaming down my cheeks. Also, when Frodo and Gollum left Sam, and he was sobbing uncontrollably, I just couldn't help but feel pity and was crying a little too. I don't mind a good cry, especially in this good of a movie. I, of course, enjoyed the Legolas-Orliphant scene. As unrealistic as everyone insists it was, elves are just amazing creatures. It totally made up for the fact that he was not in the majority of the movie. I always paid good attention when he spoke...he was just the kind of character that you had to listen to every time, because it was something extremely important or moving. Whether or not it was realistic...it was an invigorating scene. Because I went to the midnight showing, everyone there was obviously a die-hard fan and clapped, gasped and responded to every move in the movie. When Aragorn jumped out of the ships when they reached Minis Tirith, the place was in an uproar. And when each of the characters, at the end, entered Frodo's room as he awoke, one by one, everyone cheered when they appeared in the doorway. You heard many girlish screams with Legolas and Aragorn came in, as to be expected. But it was wonderful, it is such a great feeling to honestly be a part of something so great. Being a Lord of the Rings fan is an amazing experience. Calli S.
Return of the king was the best movie ever! The story was great, the battle scenes were great especially the whole scene with Legolas and the elephant! I thought the Orlando was so hot in that!!!!! This movie rocked!Numerounodanfan
i thought the return of the king was excellant! I love the part when Orlando's up on the elephant! The ending was too long, though. The movie was very good, overall.Lauren
Lord of the rings return of the king is this best on of all and orlando is all that in the third one oh my gosh to me it had the best graphics of them all and in the cronicles of the hobbit i sure hope that orlando bloom will be in them.and if i had to rate it i would give it a 10 out of 10Kikiru
ROTK was by far one of the best movies that I have ever seen. It had some of everything: drama, battles, romance, comic relief... even music (Pippin and Aragorn singing, + "Into the West"). Some of the scenes were really moving, too - Gandalf describing death for Pippin, the departure of Frodo especially. All of the characters (and actors) seemed to really come into their own in this movie. Eowyn -- awesome! She kicked ass with her killing the Witch King. Arwen was a little disappointing, though - her role was only good in the first one, where she actually did something useful, but even so, she still managed to have the most and best costumes in the whole movie. Arwen is the kind of person someone could dream of being, but Eowyn is the kind of person you could aspire to become, and become. Eowyn would have been a good person for Aragorn, and then Arwen and Legolas... but don't get me get me going rearranging relationships! I have 2 say that the singing did come as a bit of a surprise, you know, I wasn't really expecting the Return of the King: the Musical, but all the same Billy and Viggo did a fine job with what they had to work with. I felt Orli was a little jipped with the amount of lines and everything that he got to say, but as he can make even the plainest line really compelling it didn't really matter. This movie is definitely Best Picture or Best Director Oscar material, if not both, not to mention costumes, screenplay, effects, and music... I love this movie!--Liv
the return of the king was the most moving and sensational movies i have ever seen in my life. i was kept on the edge of my seat the whole way through. at the end i cried, it was so sad! i cant explain how much i love this movie, i cant wait till i own the trilogy.xoxoxo courtney
In Lord of the Rings - The Return of the King. Orlando Bloom plays an Elven warrior. The movie is absoultly excellent. It could have been a bit shorter, but all in all it was good. Legolas(a.k.a. Orlando Bloom) playes his part very well in all 3 movies. In conclusion I would just like to say that if you liked the first 2 LOTR(lord of the rings) movies you will fall in love with the 3 movie.Jennifer Inglis Wasaga Beach, Ontario, Canada
First of all, Orli looked soooooo fine! at the end when he walked through the door to Frodo's room thingamabob I stopped Breathing for like five seconds!! My Mom practically had to check if I was still alive!lol second of all, the movie freakin' rocked!! All of the special effects were awsome! Even though the screen was a little to low so I didn't see the Elvish subtitles until the second time I saw it. But that's ok, because the movie was still totally awsome!Amanda Cormier P.S. did I mension just how fine Orli was? I proboly did!
OMG!! That movie was soooooo awsome! I don't want it to end though. i'm kinda sad about that. anyway i loved it! it was great!!OBelfgirl
